What's in Gov. Corzine's e-mails to Katz?
Gov. Corzine has agreed to have an ethics review done to determine whether his relationship with union chief and former girlfriend Carla Katz may have affected contract negotiations with state workers.
At the same time, he rejected requests by several media outlets, including Gannett New Jersey, for copies of his e-mail correspondence with Katz while contract talks were under way. That decision will likely be challenged in court.
Corzine's chief counsel said Corzine did not discuss contract talks with Katz from his state e-mail account and that personal e-mail correspondence is not subject to the Open Public Records Act.
Corzine also has said any e-mail exchanges between he and Katz during the six-month contract negotations did not concern the bargaining process. And he continues to maintain that all ties with Katz were severed before he became governor.
Two questions: If all ties were severed, why did he continue to communicate with Katz via e-mail? And if none of the e-mail exchanges related to union-state matters, what were they chatting about? Don't expect the ethics panel to provide any answers.

If there are no E-Mails between Katz and Corzine that show a discussion about the contract then those two CWA Presidents, Wade and Rosenstein,purposely lied to both the media and their members for the sole purpose of discrediting Katz and Corzine.
Why? Because that was their way to push a Yes vote on the contract settlement.
In their self serving bid to push a questionable contract agreement they went "personal" by telling the press that they were aware of E-mail contacts. Thye did so with total disregard for the reputation of the Governor.
If the investigation proves that Corzine is telling the truth about the e-mails those two Cwa manipulators should be required to publicly apologize to Katz, Corzine and their membership for spreading lies.
Thye abused their leadership position and embarrassed the CWA by going public with falsehoods.
That Ethics Advisory Panel had better check on the validity of the comments made by CWA Presidents Wade and Rosenstein regarding those E-Mail accusations. That whole story started with their public comments.
If these State Union leaders used the press to spread " untruths" for the sole purpose of discrediting Katz and subsequently Corzine the Ethics Panel must reveal this also.
If this Panel is going seriously do its job, then a determination on whether those two Presidents were telling the truth should also be part of the findings.
They went public first with this strory , now they should be held publicly accountable.
"why did he continue to communicate with Katz via e-mail?"... cause they still like each other. Maybe they remained friends.
"And if none of the e-mail exchanges related to union-state matters, what were they chatting about?"....sports, the weather, helping out with her kids education. dosent matter, none of our bussness
