Any questions for governor, Sen. Lance?

The Asbury Park Press editorial board will be hosting Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance and new Monmouth County Republican Chairman Adam Puharic next week. The following week, Gov. Corzine will be coming here to meet with our board.
If you have any questions you would like us to ask any of them, please pass them along, via a blog response, an e-mail, rbergmann@app.com or by phone, 732 643-4034.

There are many complex financial issues that need to be discussed. However one issue, that unless resolved will make all other discussions worthless, is ethics.

Good, honest, ethical people are needed to operate our government.

Governor Corzine PROMISED an ethics litmus test. How have his Cabinet appointments held up?

My personal concern is law enforcement and so far he did well on one ( Fuentes) and struck out on another ( Farber) . His selection for Corrections Commissioner looks like it will be a mistake. There a at least two pending Attorny General investigations that have not been resolved that could reach to the highest levels of the present DOC Administration.

Will Corzine ignore this fact?

The State Senate Judiciary Committee and the leadership of the Senate, including Senator Lance. Should inform the Governor that no nomination will proceed until all questions are answered regarding the pension paperwork falsification scandal and the construction bid scandal.

Let's not fear the answers.

Let's get this one right.

The Governor should pull the nomination if even " one hair is out of place" ethically.

After watching Farber's performance yesterday I am even more concerned with her ability to stay in office.

At least with corruption someone makes adetermined effort and choices to DO SOMETHING !

She scares me because it looks like her thinking process is not working properly. In a post like AG bad judgement might just be worse than corruption. Bad judgement is something that is repetetive.

We knew she was not the best choice and now we are paying for it.

Corzine is making the same mistake with another nominee. Everyone in Corrections knows that Hayman is not the best choice. He is a political payback. When you settle for 2nd best you get 2nd rate leadership. In many ways this guy is WAY AHEAD of Farber. He already has two investigations knocking at his door!

Why is New Jersey cursed ?
